B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology

Overview

B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology is an undergraduate program from Jain (Deemed-to-be) University. There is an increasing demand for experts in the fields of radiography photography, radiotherapy, radiotherapy patient care, radiotherapy quality assurance, radiation hazards control etc. The health care industry has been facing acute scarcity of trained Radiological Technicians/ Technologist. The program shall meet the growing needs of professionals in the field of clinical radiography, radiation safety, image processing technology, imaging modalities, etc.

Program Outcome

• Apply the principles of radio- pharmacy, radiochemistry, radiobiology and quality control in the production and use of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety procedures for nuclear medicine practice.
• Ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures with appropriate instrumentation and protocols to protect patients, themselves, and others from unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Understand the recent developments and emerging trends in nuclear medicine imaging and therapy along with potential benefits and limitations of new radiopharmaceuticals and imaging modalities.
